It had to be tough during those first years of the scandals becoming public. I have to believe that many priests have become socially isolated as a result of the scandals. Also, their good works have become pearls among swine. No one cares. Or they are just taken for granted. Those who open their parishes to new ministries or new outreach programs are sometimes criticized openly by parishioners who resist change. As a lay person. I've often wondered if a priest can seek help within the church if they suffer depression?
